Birthday Month

Last week it was my birthday and I wasn’t as excited as I usually am. Probably because the world is so Dystopian right now. I actually hate this world.
Anyway back to my birthday. It was a little bit different this year because I wasn’t excited for it. I’ve changed a lot in the space of a year. You can’t remain the same when you have seen awful things happen. Even if it is online. No one wants to see a live streamed genocide.
So this year, I didn’t know what I wanted. Until I did. I’m not on about gifts per se. I was on about cake. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love cake. And last year I realised I loved Pandas so I had a panda cake then.
This year I wanted something special so I showed my baker what I wanted and obviously she provided.
It was nice to wake up to gifts too. This year, no one asked me what I wanted per se. But I woke up to gifts. And was I happy? Hell yes.
My brother got me balloons because I bloody love balloons. So yay 🎈🎈🎈 and my mom got me some beautiful flowers. They’re still going strong πŸ’πŸŒΊπŸŒΈπŸŒ·πŸŒ»πŸŒΉπŸŒΌ but one of my favourite gifts was one given to me by my 16 year old cousin. It was a gift bag made up of snacks that I love, plus a small teddy 🧸 it was a really sweet gift especially because she used her own pocket money and it was her own gift. I think it’s the first time she’s actually done this and I felt very special. Oh there was also the case of the Mystery flowers I received. With a card that literally said ‘Happy Birthday Sumera xx’, I was so confused because I am rarely called Sumera and these were anonymous flowers! Turned out it was from my aunty which was really unexpected. Overall I had a great birthday. Especially because I went out on the day with family, the next day I went out with a couple of friends but that wasn’t a birthday thing, it was more a ‘ooh this place has a great deal on for a few days and we all enjoy the food’ and then on Friday I went out for a beautiful meal with my friends at a nice restaurant. I had a lovely few days celebrating my birthday.
